It’s ideal for archery enthusiasts with less strength, and for hunting smaller animals like squirrels. Unlike its larger brethren, this weapon requires less strength to cock and fire a bolt. Pistol - Like a standard handgun, the pistol variant is a compact device that is easily carried. It’s popular among hunting enthusiasts and survivalists alike for its rugged reliability and lack of prey-alerting, noisy components. Featuring adjustable draw weights and easily maintained, this weapon is more silent than most. Recurve - If you want something that isn’t that complicated, the recurve type is an excellent choice. If you can provide the necessary strength to pull the bow back, this type can shoot bolts from afar. Multiple customizations, including sights, can work with this crossbow iteration. Like a rifle, this weapon can be used for accurate, long-distance shooting. Rifle - The benefit of a rifle type can be inferred from its name. There are many different kinds of crossbows available, and each one has its own unique characteristics and benefits: Before purchasing a crossbow, become familiar with the different types and find the one that best suits your needs. Hunters and archery enthusiasts find these relatively silent weapons to be highly useful. Peripheral vision is kinda important.Durable and equipped with a simplistic firing mechanism, crossbows make for ideal weapons. I know a couple people have mentioned putting scopes on crossbows, but in general I'm really not a fan of the scopes in 7D2D. Typically I never specced into archery, and pretty much only used it on rare occasions once I got ahold of decent guns/ammo, but this time around I'm really liking it and plan on mostly using bows and melee. I'd rather have faster refire for the stickier situations. The projectiles shoot fairly fast and flat, and honestly I don't think the extra damage in the crossbow is even necessary at this point. Otherwise it will take out standard zeds with one headshot. Sneaking, iron arrows 1 shot everything (headshots for heftier zeds). I have 4/5 points in archery on standard difficulty. I'm using a T5 wooden bow with polymer string and a few other mods. This time I feel the extra damage really isn't necessary. I dont have a proper test to reference, but I used to religiously drop the bow as soon as crossbows became available. Just hit up wasteland for like 15 minutes lmao), and iron. Just some wood, feathers (which is super easy to get tons of. You don't need to go hunting brass or spending tons of dukes on it. Slipping through a POI without wasting any medicine is a pretty great benefit. The pitch quite 1 hit kill bow shots is pretty spiffy. It's okay to have things that specialize in other areas. I don't think they should be as good as automatic weaponry for hoard night though. Goofy shit like that would make them more viable for hoard night. A shotgun style exploding bolt where you shoot a zed, the bolt explodes, but its a shotgun shot coming out of hte back of the zombie.

More variants of exploding bolts that dont topple everything but instead explode with shrapnel and cause bleeding and slows in a wide area. Where you fire a bolt and it locks down everything in a pretty wide area with a stun where it lands. Since we've gone somewhat sci fi with junk turrets I'd like things like 'electric nets'. Putting points into archery should honestly get you some more arrow recipes. I think bows should get some more expansion.
